Most large martial arts organizations offer video testing and distance training to its
members.  Out video testing will follow strict adherence to our standards of instruction and testing.  Those testing via videotape will be held under the same scrutiny as those testing in person.   To help students become proficient we will offer live video and recorded lessons as well as supporting our local schools.

• We will offer video testing, but only through 4^th dan

• All tests for shodan (1^st degree black belt) MUST be done in person

• Those testing for degree ranks beyond 1st degree black may do so via videotape, but only up to 4^th degree (after this you MUST test in person).

• Those testing via videotape will be held under the same scrutiny as those testing in person. 

Distance Education

Our distance education program for 12^th kyu through 1^st kyu will be as follows:

·         To be eligible for our distance learning program the individual must be an active student member of the AASKF

·         The individual must purchase the required rank videos in order or all at once.

·         The individual may only test for one rank at a time

• The individual testing will submit a testing application along with the required testing fee

• If the application is approved, an AASKF representative will contact the individual with any additional material that they will be required to perform beyond what is agreed upon for the rank being tested.

• He / She will explain at the beginning of the video the material being performed

• There should be no breaks in the video. Once the individual begins recording they must complete the entire prearranged test before stopping.

• The video will be reviewed and critiqued by a panel of AASKF instructors
    (no different than if the individual was testing in person)

• Within 30 days a decision will be reached, and the individual contacted.

• If he/she is not promoted they will given a list of things to improve on, and still charged the applicable testing fee. The individual will then be given the opportunity to retest via video within 90 days at no additional charge. 

• If the individual passes they will be promoted, and issued a formal rank certificate

     Blue Belt  (9^th - 6^th kyu)     $99.00

     Green Belt (6^th - 3^ed kyu)    $99.00

     Brown Belt  (3^rd-1st kyu)   $99.00

     Black Belt                        $99.00

Fees:

There will be an additional $25.00 testing fee applied to all video tests. A base testing fee of $25.00 will be required per test level paid directly to the AASKF.  Total of $50.00 per test / per rank.

If you are testing, you will have to know the material you are being tested on
 or you will fail.
